Winter is one of the hardest seasons to find things to do. It also depends on where one lives and if someone likes going out in the cold. Another big part of finding activities to do is if individuals have kids.
Let’s talk about warm weather things to do first. There is for sure people out there who hate the cold. Things like going to a show, baking, or just sitting by a fire reading a book are good ways to stay warm. Just doing any activity in a building is a great way to stay warm. Another really good idea is to go shopping and buy gifts for the important people in life.
There doesn’t seem like there is many things to do in the cold. Try going ice skating, sledding, or even a snowball fight. Individuals can also build a fort out of snow using water to freeze it into place. Don’t forget to go to some slopes and ski or snowboard. Take the kids outside and build a snowman, make snow angels, or just catch snowflakes on the tongue. Try taking a piece of black paper out and catching snowflakes to get a better look at them.

If the things mentioned aren’t exciting enough here are a few more ideas. Sitting in an outside hot tub is a good way to be warm but also enjoy the snow. Stong believers of trying new things should learn how to knit a scarf, sweater, or hat. There is no shame in just wanting to stay home as well. For the people who want to stay home try learning a new card game or building a puzzle.
When asked what their favorite thing to do is winter is Mia Umphrey, an Allied Health student, said “My absolute favorite thing to do is ice skating with my friends on Fridays.” Asher VanTine, an Allied Health student, was asked the same question he answered, “I love just staying home and watching good holiday movies.”
It’s hard to find things to do in winter. Hopefully there were ideas that individuals would like and have fun doing. Now go out there and enjoy the winter season.
