International Inventor’s day is meant to inspire people to try and create something new and inspiring. The day also celebrates all who had advanced the world of technology. Why don’t people know more of the people who had made their lives easier?

National Inventor’s Day is a day to celebrate all past, present, and future inventors. A few people who are recognized for this day are Ermil Fraze, Thomas Adams, Mellita Bentz, Patricia Beth, and Thomas Eddison. Fraze was known for creating pull-tab cans. Eddison created the battery, cameras, and the light bulb to name a few that people use every day. Adams created chewing gum that people use for a variety of reasons such as a breath mint, to clean teeth, or to help a person diet by reducing appetite.

The 2nd International Inventor’s day convention and National’s Inventor’s Day was opened by the H.E Abhisit Vejjajiva prime minister of Thailand. Vejjajiva did this with Kalaya Sophonpanich Minister of Science and Technology in Thailand. The event and day of inventors was established by International Federation of Inventors’ Association (IFIA), (on February 2nd of 2008 in Bangkok) to raise awareness of inventors and to create inspiration among the grass roots of new ideas.  Percy Spencer who had created a magneton which turned electrical energy into electromagnetic energy creating waves that back then were called “microwaves”. The original purpose of these waves was to disrupt radars for enemy planes. During a test, an engineer had noticed his chocolate bar had melted. This later led to the creation of the microwave people know today. Izaiah Pampeno a student from culinary was asked what he would do if there were no inventors to create anything or if no inventions were ever made and he said “Stoves or pots, that’s a good question, and since there would be no inventors to invent. We’d have to find alternative ways to make use. Like fires or such things.”

Madam C.J Walker was born in Sarah Breedlove, 1867 and had invented a hair care treatment. What sparked her invention of hair care products was her condition of hair loss. Fredrick Jones was a self-taught engineer, who was best known for portable refrigerators which helped soldiers on the frontlines of WW2 by allowing the transportation of food and medicine. Due to his invention of portable refrigeration. Charles Babbage is named the farther of computing even though he didn’t directly create the computer, his ideas laid the ground work for modern computers.  Dante Bolte from C.I.T was asked what he would do without computers or the inventor that had started their creation and he said “No clue probably wouldn’t affect me too much since I don’t really want to work with computers.”

International Inventor’s Day is a day were people hold conventions to either show off new ideas or to celebrate people who made life easier. This day also is meant to inspire everyone’s creative side. Through this holiday people should take time to appreciate everyone who had bettered their lives.
