Siblings can be a blessing and a curse. They can make our lives more fun by giving siblings built-in best friends but also, they can sometimes be annoying. National Brother and Sister Day is on May 2nd. This is a day to celebrate siblings and all the joy they bring to one’s life.

Whether one has a younger or older sibling they can have fun. Having a younger sibling lets a brother or a sister watch them grow up and develop a personality. They get to mentor them and help them figure out the world. Having an older sibling can be fun too. They get to take their younger siblings out to do things that their parents might not do or even help them by giving advice when needed.
When asking Lailah Hilliard about her favorite part of having siblings she said, “I like always having someone there.” If I need help, I know someone will be able to help me.” When Megan Pooley was asked, she said “Because they are older, they set an example on what to do and not to do in the future.”

Everyone fights with their sibling from time to time but in the end, most always make up. Having a sibling is a great part of childhood. It teaches one to have a good relationship with others and how to make up after fights. When one has siblings, there are sure to be great memories.
