Earth Day is an international event celebrated around the world by people who pledge their support for environmental protection. People around the world show their support on Earth Day by repurposing old items, making their own cleaners, lowering the Temperature in their house, saying no to plastic, and using manual fans instead of air conditioners. Alexis Bandi picks things up off the side of the road to show her support for Earth Day. Earth Day is the one day out of the year where people do something to protect and improve the earth’s environment. Now there are people out there that do this kind of thing every day, but it is only highlighted through Earth Day. Because there was no EPA, no Clean Air Act, no Clean Water Act. In spring 1970, Senator Gaylord Nelson created Earth Day to force this issue onto the national agenda. Twenty million Americans demonstrated in different U.S. cities, that Earth Day came to be. With every Earth Day comes a chance for someone to make it their lifestyle, a new start for society to improve the way we live and breathe.
