Do you like to read? Do you want to get into reading this school year and just don’t know where to start? I know how hard it is to find a good book, especially if you have no idea what you like. Sometimes knowing what you like can be challenging regarding where to start and with school starting having a good book is a necessity. So, let’s go over some of the best books to start your 2024-2025 school year off with.

Now if you’re a Lenape student who loves the hunger game movies and has never read the books it’s a great time to start for the new school year. “The hunger games” by Suzanne Collins is ranked among the 51 must read books according to my sources.  Like the hunger games “The Cruel Prince” by Holly Black is also on the list. The Cruel Prince is an Enemy to lover kind of romance while in a magical world. These books are both fictions. “The Cruel Prince” is a fantasy while “The Hunger Games” is Dystopian Fiction. The information here was found on the website Reader Digest.

For the students who like mystery a popular mystery book in 2024 is “Bad Like Us” by Gabriella Lepore. This is a closed circle murder mystery with just the slightest touch of romance. For the students who want more of a thriller a popular book is “The One Who Got Away With Murder” By Trish Lundy. The book is about a girl who solves murders before becoming a victim herself. All of this was found on thestorysanctuary.com

Now when interviewing Jasmine Sadler I asked her what books she recommended, she said the book series HeartStopper by Alice Oseman. She told me the books were about romance and did mention a lot about mental health, a little about eating disorders. When Interviewing Q Patsy about a book she recommended they told me about The Breadwinner by Deborah Ellis. They told me it was very emotional and shows the troubles of families in Afghanistan, and how the main character had to pretend to be a male to support her family. Now students welcome back to school and hope this selection helps you with a great back-to-school book to start your school year off!                                                                                                                                                                                                                By Camryn Hetrick
