Ehlers Danlos syndrome is a connective tissue disorder that can affect many different aspects of your body and a person’s overall health. This is a debilitating disorder that many people don’t know about.

The most common type of EDS is Hypermobile EDS. This makes your joints loose and fragile. Many people with EDS suffer from dislocations throughout the day. People with EDS are much more fragile and likely to get hurt. They bruise more easily and because of their loose joints and they tend to be more clumsy.

More symptoms include stretchy skin, heart problems, stomach issues, pain, TMJ, and many more including being sensitive to the touch. Just poking them could result in pain. Unfortunately, EDS has no cure. Younger people with this illness may be in so much pain they have to be in a wheelchair one day, and the next they can walk around like normal.

When asked if she has ever heard of EDS Jordan Mills, a student in Law Enforcement said, “No.” This is not surprising since it is not a well-known illness.

When asked if she has ever heard of Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, Indigo Bowser also said, “no.”

There are many unknown conditions that affect ones daily life. Knowing more about them is important to better understand what people are going through.

It’s important to understand that knowing every single rare disorder is impossible. Being kind and trying to understand even if one doesn’t know about the disorder is very important.
