National Fettuccine Alfredo Day commemorates one of the most popular ways to eat fettuccine. Since it was created, the dish has been experimented on in several ways. The meal pairs well with vegetables and proteins, with some of the most popular pairings being chicken, broccoli, and shrimp. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fettuccine alfredo, created in 1908 by Italian restauranteur Alfredo di Lelio, was inspired by his pregnant wife’s lack of appetite and the birth of their first son. The century-old dish, made with noodles, cheese, and butter, has been satisfying pasta lovers worldwide since its creation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fettuccine Alfredo Day was first mentioned in print on January 26, 2005, in an Akron Beacon Journal article listing future February food holidays. Several newspapers around the country followed suit, publishing the list on their food pages. However, none of them mentioned the origins or how long the day had been honored. However, the grandson of Alfredo Di Lelio contacted the National Day Calendar in 2015 to explain the origins of the delectable pasta dish. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite being a lesser-known holiday, many pasta lovers near and far come to enjoy a plate of fettuccine alfredo. During an interview with Dante Bolte<\/strong>, a Lenape Tech student from CIT, he said that, \u201cI\u2019d have to say that chicken alfredo is one of my favorite foods. I didn\u2019t know there was a holiday for it, but I\u2019m definitely going to start celebrating it.\u201d Another student from Cosmetology, Summer Adams<\/strong>, said that \u201cI love chicken alfredo. It\u2019s my favorite go-to pasta.\u201d No matter how a person tops their pasta, many can come to the agreement that fettuccine alfredo is delicious. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
