National Cat Day is a day to celebrate our fuzzy companions. The US celebrates it in the month of October, specifically on the 29<\/span>th<\/span>. However, this day isn’t just a day to treat them well, <\/span>it also is a holiday that attempts to shed light on the millions of cats who are abandoned and end up in shelters every year. In 2024, 2.2 million cats were adopted, 362,000 were returned to their owner or the field, 273,000 were euthanized, and 369,000 were transferred to other organizations. A student from the Tech said they have \u201cfour cats and the names are Mufasa, Tiger, Kiky and Grim and that I love them dearly.\u201d Another student from the tech said, \u201cI have two cats, named Fluffcins and Root beer. I love them lots, even though they can be brats.\u201d The day was launched by Colleen Paige, she is a conservationist, an animal behaviorist, and a pet lifestyle expert.
