The origin of the Dead Can Dance story took place in Australia. They are a band of sorts. After leaving Australia they relocated to London in the early 1980\u2019s. They are a music group that \u201ccombines the elements of the European folk music specifically music from the Middle Ages and the Renaissance with ambient pop and worldbeat flourishes, touching on everything from Gaelic folk and Gregorian chant to avant-garde pop and darkwave\u201d. The group \u201cDead Can Dance\u201d released a series of albums then ended in 1998. They then later in 2005 reunited and went for a short tour, they re-formed in 2012 issuing their 12th<\/sup> studio LP. Six years have passed and over the course of their career some new members have joined. Perry was a former lead vocalist and bassist for the Australian-based punk band the \u201cScavengers\u201d, a group that couldn\u2019t land a recording contract. In 1979, the band tried changing its name to \u201cThe Marching Girls\u201d, but were still unable to get a contract. The following year, Perry decided to leave the group and began experimenting with electronic music, specifically tape loops and rhythms. In 1981, Perry had formed \u201cDead Can Dance\u201d with Lisa Gerrard, Paul Erikson, and Simon Monroe so one could say he is the founder of \u201cDead Can Dance\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
