PPG place is home to one of the most iconic pieces of architecture in all of Pittsburgh, and the annual Ice Rink and Wintergarden holiday event just\u00a0adds\u00a0to the magic of this already entrancing place.\u00a0It\u2019s by far Pittsburgh\u2019s most popular winter outings, attracting\u00a0locals and visitors throughout the entire season.\u00a0The rink was expanded in\u00a02015, it\u00a0now stretches 116 feet long\u00a0and 116 feet wide. The rink is open from November to February and is even open on major holidays\u00a0like Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, and Martin Luther King Jr. Day.\u00a0Tickets must be purchased\u00a0online,\u00a0and each skater chooses a reserved time slot to use the rink. Face\u00a0masks\u00a0must always be worn, including while waiting in line and while skating. If\u00a0one works up\u00a0an appetite\u00a0while skating, grab a burger at Five Guys for a quick bite or enjoy\u00a0a more elegant meal at Ruth\u2019s Chris Steak\u00a0House. The standard admission to skate is\u00a0$11, plus a $5 rental fee if\u00a0one\u00a0doesn\u2019t\u00a0own skates.\u00a0Discounts are available for kids\u00a0up to\u00a0age\u00a012, adults over 50, and military members. There\u00a0are\u00a0also weekly events for even more savings,\u00a0such as Tuesday Family Nights and Wednesday student nights.\u00a0On\u00a0Tuesday’s\u00a0kids skate for free if they are accompanied\u00a0by a paying adult, while on Wednesdays anyone with\u00a0a\u00a0student ID skates for just $4. I asked two students, Morgan Mckeel<\/strong> and Mayson Kelly<\/strong> if they knew what Market Square was.
