Opposite day

What is opposite day? Opposite day is a day when everyone does and says opposite things that they do daily. There are so many different ways to celebrate it. Most people don’t know it’s a thing.
Opposite day became a thing around the 1920’s. It is celebrated on January 25th of each year, but some people say it’s celebrated on January 7th. It’s more common for children to celebrate this day than adults. Although, it is not a holiday on any calendar so it could be celebrated any day of the year. When interviewing Brayden Galbraith, a student from Culinary Arts, he said, ”I think it’s terrible and never should have been invented and/or made. Lol.”
Opposite day can help children develop more information, kind of like a game. A parent can start naming stuff and have their children find things opposite of it. Children will be learning skills that might help in school subjects like math and English. Doing this can maybe help them focus more on work than distractions. When interviewing Izaiah Pampeno, a student from Culinary Arts, he said, ”I would prank people and make jokes.”
Opposite day is not only a day that you can say or do opposite things, but can also show how our minds really work. Not everything is easy, but it can help by making ones brain think of things that are opposite of what other people do. Proving that our brains are actually smarter than what we think.
Opposite day is a lesser-known celebration where people engage in activities or say things that are opposite of their usual routines. There are numerous ways to participate in the fun. Children are the most to engage in these activities. Not a whole lot of people know of this “holiday.”
