On November 3, 2025, Lenape Tech hosted its annual blood drive inside the gym. Hosted by Mrs. Close from Allied Health, she provided information about the blood drive to inform people about the event. Here is the information needed to know about the process.
Requirements:
A person must be at least 16 years of age, and have some form of identification to prove it. Prior to donating, a person must complete a questionnaire prior to donation. The questions on this include personal health information; such as medical conditions, medications, height, weight, and lifestyle questions. “The answers to these questions help the donation center determine if the person is eligible to donate blood.” Mrs. Close had explained in the Teams message detailing how the process works. “Prior to the donation, a person’s hemoglobin levels (the number of red blood cells), blood pressure, temperature, and pulse are taken. If any of these levels are low or if a person’s blood pressure, temperature, and pulse are too high, they cannot donate.” Mrs. Close detailed further.
After donation a person must stay for 15 minutes and sit on the mats placed on the gym floor. This is a safety precaution in case someone gets dizzy or passes out. Donators can choose between juice, water, and a variety of snacks to eat during the fifteen-minute wait.
