Fall Fun for Everyone! By Aleyah Hooks

September 20, 2025, marks the opening day of Renshaw Farms’ 17th annual pumpkin fest. The festival is in Freeport, Pennsylvania and it is a great opportunity to kick off the fall season. General admission costs 8 dollars per person though children at the age of 3 or under get in for free. Many people would recommend taking a trip to this place because it contains so many things to do with reasonable pricing, including Rocky Riders Big pedal Track, hayrides, corn maze (including Spookley the Square Pumpkin Story Book), a bounce pillow, giant rope spider web, animal park, giant roll chamber race, kids corral horse races, hay bale mountain, 9 hole mini golf, tunnel crawl, tractor tire mountain, zip lines, fall fun games, fall photo booth, tractor pedal tract, and the barn yard play area. They even offer a few things excluded from the admission cost with prices ranging from 1-5 dollars.
With all of these games and activities, people are likely to build up an appetite. Luckily, Renshaw also has a cafeteria style restaurant, and a few foods stands as well that have many options to choose from. At this farm, the owners care greatly about your experience and the quality of your visit. Which is why they hire top-notch workers each year. Many people find it enjoyable how friendly and talkative all of the workers are with everyone. If someone feels that they’d be a perfect fit for this job, they can apply. Renshaw hires at sixteen years of age or older and is looking for hard-working employees. Lenape student Alyssa Smith was asked if she had ever been to Renshaw’s Pumpkin Fest and she said, “It’s honestly something that I have really enjoyed going to, there’s so many things to do there and anytime I go, I have a good time. I’d recommend it to anyone who enjoys outdoor activities.”.
Speaking of fall festivals, the 26th annual Kinzua Fall Festival also takes place September 20th, 2025. You get the opportunity to tour the skywalk on the bridge, listen to music, take part in arts and crafts, and eat delicious food from food vendors. This festival is most recommended to those who enjoy history or even architecture because there is lots of background behind the bridge and so much work put into the actual building and fixing of it.
If these things don’t get someone in the fall spirit, the harvest moon sure will. The harvest moon occurs during the autumnal equinox, which marks the beginning of the fall season. This moon is special because not only does it occur during the autumnal equinox, but it also is a bright orange color- the color of fall. Many people get excited to see the moon because they know that the fall season is kicking off.
Lots of people find fall a very enjoyable time of the year. The cool wind blowing through the air with a grey sky, rather than a miserably hot day where the sun beats down on you. Don’t get me wrong, everyone will probably miss the summertime. However, now it’s time to enjoy some of the most popular holidays and have a good time while doing so. Have a great beginning of fall season Lenape.
