Phantom Fall Fest- Thrills and Chills By Shyanna Shea

With every passing day now, the days get shorter, the nights longer, and Halloween night is close at hand. There are so many different Halloween events this year (2025), anyone could probably go to a different event every day. However, none of them can beat the thrills of Kennywood’s annual Phantom Fall Festival.

With the festival, people can enjoy Halloween the way they want to. During the day, it’s perfect for children and adults alike. There’s fun food, roller coasters, and what is described as a “unique autumn atmosphere.” There are over 30 attractions, so the fun never stops. Though, when the sun goes down, the park goes from a joyous autumn celebration to a full haunting. With 4 different scare zones and 6 hauntings around the area, it’s sure to scare. Kennywood has advertised their largest (and scariest) events during the month of October here already.

Detached is Kennywood’s newest event: an unhinged puppeteer goes on a rampage attempting to create the best show anyone’s ever seen, but at what length? Students were asked what they thought about the attraction. Some showed their excitement, while others showed their hesitance. Whether or not someone enjoys a good scare, though, a time at Kennywood is always a good time.
